All of us X-Worlds HQ are keenly aware of the importance of keeping kids safe online and we’re sympathetic to the sensitive nature of all child-initiated interactions on the Internet. At the heart of X- Worlds are the core elements that best represent what we’re trying to accomplish — safety, fun and education — and we’re dedicated to fulfilling the experience of all three, but safety comes first.
We know you have questions about what X-Worlds does and how your child might interact with the site, so we’ve created this page to help alleviate your concerns. We are happy to answer any and all questions you might have, but perhaps the best way to get to know us is by going through the process of creating a creature of your own. Discover for yourself the rush of creative energy and the thrill of whimsical achievement … then you’ll know who we are and why we do what we do.
What is X-Worlds?
X-Worlds is a free online service for kids of all ages where their ideas and imagination come to life. Once you’ve given your consent, your child can submit a drawing of a creature born of their own inspired creativity. They’ll give it a name and tell us a little bit about what makes it special. That’s when the X- Worlds team goes to work selecting the most fanciful and intriguing ideas to use as inspiration that we’ll develop into fully-rendered characters to display on x-worlds.com – and your child gets all the credit!
Creating a Creature
When you give your child permission to join X-Worlds, you’ll be giving them the chance to engage the wonder of their own imagination and share something unique with the rest of the Internet that no one has ever seen before. If we display your child’s submission on our site, we’ll protect their anonymity by referring to them only by their first name and age, making them virtually unidentifiable to anyone visiting the site. We don’t offer any peer-to-peer communications system – no blogs, chat or intra-mail service – so each submission is completely self-contained and its corresponding contact information is invisible to anyone on the outside.
If at any time you wish to edit, augment or delete your child’s submission information, a simple e- mail to our Customer Service Department at customercare@x-worlds.com is all it takes. We’ll happily comply with almost any request you make; our only request is that you include the child’s first name and their creature’s name so that we can edit the correct submission. If necessary and warranted, our team will take extra steps to verify the identity of anyone claiming to be the guardian or parent, and we’ll work with you make that as simple and smooth a process as possible.
The only request we will not comply with is to share any of the submission information with anyone not directly affiliated with X-Worlds. We will not sell, rent, reveal or disclose any of the information on any account with any third party, parental or otherwise. As the parent or guardian, you may request that some or all of the information be edited, augmented or deleted, but for the absolute safety of the children we will not divulge or release any information from the child’s account to anyone. Period.
Charging for X-Worlds
X-Worlds will always be free for everyone to discover creatures suggested by others and submit new suggestions for creature ideas themselves. However, due to the overwhelming demand for new creatures not all free submissions can be developed into an X-Worlds creature. We make every effort possible to review all creature suggestions, free or paid for, but currently the only way to guarantee that your child’s suggestion is rendered into a full-fledged creature is to donate a donut. Donuts are the preferred legal tender on X-Worlds, it’s what we feed the all the creatures with – the ones on the site and the ones behind the scenes doing all the work.
Donating is easy and safe through PayPal, and doing so will ensure that your child’s creature comes to life. If after donating we discover that the creature is unacceptable or inappropriate in any way, we’ll cancel the submission and promptly refund your donation in full.
